Mualaf Center Yogyakarta was formed on September 14, 2014 at the Gedhe Kauman Mosque with the support of the takmir and congregation of the Gedhe Kauman Mosque, Islamic organizations and laskar in Yogyakarta. The first chairman of Mualaf Center Yogyakarta was Ustadz Ir. Awal Satrio Nugroho, and the Advisory Board of Mualaf Center Yogyakarta was Ustadz Budi Setiawan, ST. Mualaf Center Yogyakarta officially became the Yogyakarta Mualaf Center Foundation on September 14, 2019.
