Mualaf Center Yogyakarta was formed on September 14, 2014 at the Gedhe Kauman Mosque with the support of the takmir and congregation of the Gedhe Kauman Mosque, Islamic organizations and laskar in Yogyakarta. The first chairman of Mualaf Center Yogyakarta was Ustadz Ir. Awal Satrio Nugroho, the Advisory Board of Mualaf Center Yogyakarta was Ustadz Budi Setiawan, ST. Mualaf Center Yogyakarta officially became the Yogyakarta Mualaf Center Foundation on September 14, 2019.

In addition to helping syahada, foster and assist converts, Mualaf Center Yogyakarta also has a basic introduction to Islam program for non-Islamic friends who want to know. The program is filled with discussion activities, discussing matters of faith and science, adding insights to each other for the breadth of knowledge.
